DeRione's Gourmet Kitchen was started in 2019 by Chef Smitty and his wife Dana.

Chef Smitty has over 25 years of experience in the culinary industry. He has been exposed to many different styles of cuisine and can cook a wide variety of foods.

“This journey started with my mom. She made me learn how to cook, clean and do laundry. She said, “you are not going to be a lazy man!” At the time, I didn’t realize what was really going on. So after high school I joined the United States Army and went to cooking school.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!! I never thought it would be so enjoyable.

I served 11 years in the army and traveled to different countries learning to cook. After the army I worked with several restaurant concepts such as O’Charley’s, Romano’s Macaroni Grill, and Bahama Breeze just to name a few.

So now I want to share with you my passion…the joy of food! Let the journey begin!”
